Wiscasset.net d/b/a/ Route 1(Wiscasset.net or the "Service") have established these Operating Rules to help make your online usage and communications a positive and secure experience. BY YOUR CONTINUED USE OF THE SERVICE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE RULES AND THE ROUTE 1 SERVICE AGREEMENT, WHICH IS INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE IN THESE RULES. The terms of the Service Agreement also apply to these Operating Rules and vice versa. Wiscasset.net may modify without prior notice to you these Operating Rules or the incorporated Service Agreement at any time by publishing the modified rule(s) over the Service.
You must not use the Service to upload, transmit or post copyrighted or otherwise protected material to the Internet without the permission of the owner(s) or person(s) owning the copyright or other intellectual property rights in the transmitted materials. Only the owner(s) or persons specifically authorized by the owner(s) may use the Service to upload, post or transmit copyrighted or otherwise protected material. If you download from the Internet copyrighted or otherwise protected material you must do so with the express permission of the owner(s) or other authorized persons regarding copying, redistribution, modification or publication.
You agree not to publish on or over the Service any information, software or other content which violates or infringes upon the rights of any other person or which would be abusive, profane or offensive to an average person. You agree not to use the facilities and capabilities of the Service to conduct any business or activity or to solicit the performance of any activity which is prohibited by law. You agree to comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations in connection with your use of the Service. You acknowledge that you are aware that areas accessible through the Service may contain material unsuitable for minors (persons under 18 years of age). You agree to supervise usage of the Service by minors whom you permit to use the Service. You acknowledge that, when using the Internet, you are accessing content that is not controlled by Wiscasset.net. The reliability, availability and content of such resources accessed through the Internet are beyond Wiscasset.net’s control and are not in any way warranted or supported by Wiscasset.net. You acknowledge that safeguards relative to copyright, ownership, decency, reliability and integrity of content are entirely lacking with respect to the Internet and content accessible through it. You assume all risk and liability of your use of the Internet, including your continuous compliance with these Operating Rules.
Wiscasset.net reserves the right in its sole discretion and without prior notice to suspend and/or terminate your access to the Service at any time and for any reason. In the event that your access to the Service is terminated (including for nonpayment), Wiscasset.net, in its sole discretion, may refuse to accept all new e-mail sent to your terminated e-mail address. In all cases of termination, your existing e-mail can be mailed to you within five (5) business days after receipt by Wiscasset.net of formatted floppy disk for this purpose. In the event that you cancel your account in good faith, Wiscasset.net will forward your e-mail to your new e-mail address for period of thirty (30) days.
Unauthorized access to the Service or its servers is strictly prohibited. You agree that you will not engage in such activity or attempt to break into the Service for the purpose of altering or manipulating the hardware and software comprising the Service, or for any other unauthorized use of any kind ("hacking"). You agree that you will be responsible for and indemnify the Service for any liability of any kind arising from the use of your password for such purposes.
You agree to indemnify and hold Wiscaset.net harmless from any claims and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, related to your violation of these Operating Rules, the Service Agreement, applicable laws or unauthorized use of any software or other content obtained by you from the Internet using the Service.
Your right to use your personal flat rate service is personal to you alone and is not transferable or usable by more than one person at one time. You may not lease or otherwise assign or sublet your personal flat rate service account to others. Your personal flat rate service is subject to any limits established by Wiscasset.net or by your credit card company if billing is through a credit card. You may not under any circumstances resell to any other person or entity the service you receive through your flat-rate personal account. Multiple members of the same household may share a single User ID number account. However, only one person is authorized to access the Service at any given time on one User ID number account.
You are guaranteed a minimum of five (5) megabytes of hard drive space for file storage. In its discretion, however, the Service may allocate more space to your use. Due to limitations on hard drive space on the mail server, however, you are restricted to three (3) megabytes of undelivered e- mail and attached files. Should the e-mail server overload and reset due to violations of this rule, you may lose undelivered e-mail. The Service takes no responsibility for lost e-mail due to violations of this rule by its members.
Wiscasset.net believes that all mail messages must remain absolutely private so that you will have the confidence to regularly use the Service. Any hint of monitoring could undermine your trust and slow our business growth, so we maintain strict policies which can be summarized by the following statements:
- Wiscasset.net does not monitor any messages in any way.
- Wiscasset.net employees are prohibited from disclosing mail communications if an employee sees a member’s message while performing his or her job (such as technicians aiding in customer problem resolution).
Personal web pages provided to you as part of your flat rate personal service may be used for commercial announcements and advertising but may not be used for interactive commerce or interactive commercial activities (such as processing orders, sending goods, etc). Should you need such commercial capabilities and capacity, Wiscasset.net will be happy to assist you in setting up commercial web pages for that purpose.
Wiscasset.net wants to provide it's users with the best internet service possible, by reading and complying with our Acceptable Use Policies, you are helping us to achieve this goal.
Thank You
